GRA: Watching the lions on “see b.s.,” an ad came on during a break.
“The greatest lawman in our history—Bass Reeves” (black).
Is it a Mel Brooks comedy?
No, unfortunately, it’s an eight-episode show on paramount plus—which also stars 88-year-old Donald Sutherland.
Donald, Donald, Donald. It’s better not to take an acting job, in some circumstances—like here.

(NYTimes)In ‘Lawmen: Bass Reeves,’ Fiction Fills In Where Tall Tales Leave Off
The creators of the western drama based on the life of a Black deputy U.S. marshal were inspired by the challenge of filling in the lost history of the famous lawman.
GRA:Or is he just another overly embellished blackie that Hollywood is attempting to replace White history with?
The question is the answer.Even the "Times" has its doubts,a Chris Vogner review suggesting not enough facts are present about Reeves to film this kind of series.
So they "invent" a few things and history is rewritten again.

OH, not a Mel Brooks comedy. Not a Cleavon Little parody. Bass evidently a real person. Maybe even deserving.
