alabama repossession firm seizes black dad's truck as he lays dying feet away

"Stephen Perkins, 39, was gunned down by cops from Decatur alabama police department outside his home in [sic] on september 29 in Decatur, alabama."
www.dailymail.co.uk

"Surveillance cameras captured the moment Perkins was gunned down by responding officers, who fired eighteen shots at him. appallingly, a driver from allstar recovery drives off with the dying man's truck as he takes his final breaths just feet away, with his final words said to have been 'help.'"

I work in the auto insurance industry

He got his vehicle repossessed because he most likely had gone months without making payments.

Lenders don't want the vehicle back.

They already are dealing with a glut of repossessed vehicles.

They figured he DEFINITELY wasn't going to be making any payments in the future,so--PRESTO,CHANGE-O--truck gone.

A Hispanic New Mexican told me that buying on time for people like him meant he had to make all the payments and THEN would be allowed to take the merchandise home. The merchants knew that if they let the merchandise be taken away into the mountains of Northern New Mexico, they would never see the merchandise nor any payments. That was a few decades ago--I don't know if this is still how business is conducted north of Santa Fe.
