morning jolt: a possible senate deal on gun control
Morning Jolt On the menu today: A bipartisan group of senators seems to have agreed on an initial framework for new gun-control legislation, Sarah Palin passes the first major hurdle in her race for Congress, and the Wall Street Journal offers some insight into how we should understand abortion polling.

At this point, you probably ought to invent another term to replace RINO -- because generally, it is not at all clear what the GOP stands for, i.e. if it is anything 'conservative' at all, or how they purport to distinguish themselves from Democrats -- it appears that a majority of Republicans are RINOs (as that term is commonly understood) -- the GOP exists mostly to provide the illusion of choice.
