Police said officers checked the business and there was no indication a shooting occurred. ... Officers, however, checked the entire mall “out of an abundance of caution” and ultimately found no evidence of a shooting.

OTSEGO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — An 86-year-old veteran was hospitalized after he was assaulted at a gas station near Otsego Wednesday.
It happened around 1 p.m. at the Circle K on M-89 near US-131 in Otsego Township.
Bill Simpson, an 86-year-old (White)veteran, was pulling up to a gas pump as the suspect was also pulling up to the same pump, the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office said in a release.
The(black) suspect got out of his vehicle and assaulted Simpson, the sheriff’s office said. It said the(black) suspect then immediately left the scene.
Simpson was brought to the hospital with severe facial injuries, officials say.
He has since been released from the hospital and says he cannot believe someone would result to violence over a gas pump.
“I said, ‘I’ve been sitting here for five minutes waiting for gas guy.’ I said, ‘You just come off the highway,’ and then he just smacked me,” Simpson said. “If it was me pulling in there like that and I seen the guy and see he had a veteran’s hat on I would have said, ‘Go ahead fella, you earned it,’ but he didn’t say that. He was for himself.”
Bill Simpson’s granddaughter, Kayla Simpson, is hopeful someone comes forward to help investigators solve the case and says her grandfather has a lot of recovery ahead of him.
“Justice needs to be served for my grandpa, he didn’t deserve any of this,” Kayla Simpson said. “He’s still really sore … his nose is broke, his jaw is fractured.”
Despite the injuries, the veteran says he is willing to forgive the person who hit him.
“All I would like to do is to have the guy apologize to me for doing this and then go on his way,” he said.
(GRA:Yes--for 2 years in prison.It could have easily been murder--amazing that the sucker punch didn't kill the 86 year old Simpson.)

He was supposed to go to Scotland for the “how do we get heating oil to $10 a gallon to show the peasants who’s in charge?” conference, I mean the United Nations climate summit. (No points for guessing if he planned to fly private.)
But he didn’t go to Scotland. Something about “family obligations.”
Dude hasn’t been seen since.
Those are some serious obligations!
I’m sure he’s fine. I’m sure it has nothing to do with the booster.

(ZH)As Tom Ozimek detailed earlier for The Epoch Times, police officials said at least eight people were killed and many others injured in a crush when fans surged toward the stage at the Astroworld music festival in Houston on Nov. 5 while rapper Travis Scott was performing.
“This is a tragic night,” Houston Fire Chief Samuel Peña told a news conference outside NRG Park, the event venue.
“Eight confirmed fatalities, and we had scores of individuals that were injured,” he added, describing what occurred as a “mass casualty incident.”
Around 50,000 fans were in attendance at the festival, Peña said, when at around 9 p.m. “the crowd began to compress towards the front of the stage, and that caused some panic, and it started causing some injuries.”
“People began to fall out, become unconscious, and it created additional panic,” he said, adding that emergency response teams transported 17 people to area hospitals, with 11 of the victims in cardiac arrest.
Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo said that some of those taken to hospital were as young as ten years old.
“Tonight’s focus … needs to be on the families and on the lives that we lost,” Hidalgo said. “Many of them extremely young, tragically young.”
“Our hearts are broken. People go to these events looking for a good time, a chance to unwind, to make memories,” Hidalgo said. “It’s not the kind of event you go to to find out about fatalities.”

The fire chief said the cause of death of the 8 deceased will not be officially known until the medical examiner has completed an investigation.
