Biden Reverses Trump “Fake News” Theme by Claiming He Speaks “the Truth”

GRA: Whereas Donald Trump used to proclaim (correctly) the media concocted fake news about him and White Patriots on a daily basis, Biden is indicating a 180° variation of that message: “I speak the truth.”

“Others lied for the sake of power, but I speak the truth.”

Then he repeated what he often said—during the campaign: “I will fight just as hard for those who voted against me as those who voted for me”—which is utterly impossible.

A lie.

N.S.: In 2015, the msm more or less ignored the Trump candidacy, laughing about him among themselves. Either in late 2015 or early 2016, Ann Coulter appeared on, I believe Bill Maher’s show, and said that Trump was going to win the Republican nomination (and, I believe, the election). The host and everyone else there laughed their heads off, and I believe that Maher said she didn’t really believe what she was saying. Ann’s face and voice were perfectly serious.

The msm thought (hoped?) if they just ignored Trump, he’d go away.

In 2016, they realized he wasn’t going away. At one point, on a Sunday morning political show before Trump secured the GOP nomination, Lynn Sweet, the Washington bureau chief of the Chicago Sun-Times, declared that journalists must say to Trump’s face that he is a liar.

Neither Sweet nor any other msm Democrat journalist ever talked like that about Bill Clinton or Barack Obama or, for that matter, any other political candidate in my memory, which is long.

I believe that Biden’s speechwriter’s particular statement was tightly tied to a specific piece of fraudulent journalism a few days earlier, which asserted that the “insurrection” at the Capitol on January 6th was deliberately caused by a “lie” Trump consciously spread, to wit that the election was stolen by the Democrats.
