LANSING, MI (WILX) - The suspect in a double homicide that happened last week, was in court on Friday for an arraignment.

The arraignment wasn't for the murders but for three other counts.

The man, whose identity has not been confirmed by police, was arraigned in Eaton County on three counts: Assault, Domestic Violence, and Cruelty to Animals.

He is scheduled to have an arraignment on Tuesday in Ingham County for the murders.

News 10 is uncovering more details of this case and will have more information throughout the day.

Here's what we know:
Friday morning, a man killed two women, both of whom were former acquaintances of his, police say.

The Ingham County Sheriff’s Office has identified the Delhi TWP victim as 26-year-old Kaylee Ann Brock from Holt, MI.

Meridian Police have identified the Meridian TWP victim as 32-year-old Julie Ann Mooney of Williamston, MI.

The suspect, who lives in Delta Township but is from Chicago, Illinois, went to the home of a third person around 2:40 a.m. and banged on her door, asking to be let in.


The woman did not let him in.

This was at the 5300 block of Mall Drive West.

She contacted the police and told them that she had received text messages from the suspect that said “he loved her so he spared her, and she would know what that meant soon.” The suspect also texted he “had been ridding the demons of some dear friends of his.”

In about an hour, the police located the suspect's vehicle on I-69 near Otto Road and made a traffic stop.

He was arrested on some outstanding warrants.

When police located the 26-year-old man, police say that he showed them his phone with pictures of two women that were deceased.

A Michigan man was pulled over while he was in the middle of a “killing spree” — and even showed officers photos of his victims, according to police.

The 26-year-old suspect was busted in connection with a double homicide after a panicked ex-girlfriend alerted authorities to texts he sent about “ridding the demons of some dear friends.”

He was stopped early Friday on Interstate 69 and told sheriff’s deputies he needed to show them photos on his phone.

“The suspect proceeded to show deputies images of what appeared to be two deceased females,” Ingham County Sheriff Scott Wriggelsworth said at a press conference Friday.

Welfare checks led to the bodies of Kaylee Ann Brock, 26, at her home in Holt, and Julie Ann Mooney, 32, in Williamston. Both died of multiple blunt force trauma, officials said.

“I don’t think there’s any doubt that the suspect was on a killing spree,” Wriggelsworth said, according to NBC News. “And his quick capture probably saved many lives. As a matter of fact, since we’ve been working this investigation, we have learned there were other victims this guy intended to kill.”

The ex from Eaton County tipped authorities off to the suspect’s creepy messages, saying he violated an order of protection.

“She received texts from the suspect that he loved her and so he spared her and she would know what this meant soon,” the sheriff said. “He also went on to say he had been ridding the demons of some dear friends of his.”

Wriggelsworth refused to formally identify the suspect, a resident of Delta Township who is being held in Eaton County jail, until his arraignment Monday or Tuesday.

De Blasio does think that processed meats contribute to climate change but isn't banning hot dogs sales in general, he just wants to ban the sales of hot dogs in city run locations like prisons, schools & hospitals. The ban would have no effect on private sales of hot dogs, people who might even benefit from less competition from the city.

Seems to me that in a giant steel and concrete city that requires immense infrastructure and resources to support the banning of hot dog sales in city outlets is about as meaningful as banning straws but De Blasio, as all his ilk, love symbolic acts that really don't have significant impact but reinforce the image they like to project to the public.

Our soy boy mayor, Ted Wheeler, is just as loony as De Blasio, he's another open borders fanatic that has declared Portland to be a "sanctuary city" and is prepared to welcome mass numbers of African, Asian & Muslim migrants into our city even if it means going to jail for them. Seriously Teddy, in 30 years or so (according to current growth rates) the population in our fair city will be double what it is now thanks to open border zealots like you. What do you think the effect will be on your "green spaces" then? Those people need room to live and trees will be cut down and land developed to support them. You can ban straws & hot dogs all you want, it won't mean a damn thing.

These nutjobs don't see that essential contradiction in their ideologies. They want to "save the world" with meaningless symbolic acts but have no problem mass importing untold millions of high birth rate 3rd worlders into a 1st world that is declining in numbers. The population on the US stands at 330 million but in 60 or 70 years there will be close to a billion people in this country, and the growth is strictly due to immigration, if there was no immigration the population of the US would be less than 300 million in that time frame. Imagine the amount of resources needed to support a billion people in the most consumer driven country on earth, the impact on the environment will render less than meaningless those symbolic measures enacted by poseurs like Wheeler and De Blasio. If they truly were environmentalists and wanted to "save the world" they would be anti mass immigration and promote family planning for 3rd world countries in order to slow down their out of control birthrates.

Also, most of those extra 700 million or so people will not be white Christians, they will be black, Asian or Muslim. Something tells me those people will be eating hot dogs with as much gusto as anybody today.
