A possible mass shooting at Parkrose High School in Portland was thwarted when 18 yr. old student Angel Granados Dias was tackled while carrying a gun into the school by Keanon Lowe, a black football coach.
Media heavily covered Mr. Lowe's heroic act but only one outlet, Channel 6 news, has posted the shooter’s name and face, despite him being publicly identified for nearly a full day now. Very likely because it is a Hispanic kid, and not a white one.
It's not because he's technically a child; he is 18 years old and a legal adult, which was reported when the story first hit.
One of my nephews attends Parkrose but was not at school that day.

The other TV news outlets have finally put the school shooter wanna be on the news but without the usual zeal. The stories have been muted and you can sense the lessened urgency in the reporting because the perp isn't white. News features have mostly been centered around the black coach who tackled the shooter. I couldn't help but also notice they were interviewing a lot of black kids at the school, especially at the beginning. And Parkrose, while being invaded by more blacks and hispanics recently, is still mostly a white school. You know the formula, (assumed to be) white shooters, black hero and blacks kids worried about being shot by those "white shooters", unfortunately the libs the shooter has a distinctly hispanic name: Angel Granados Dias, and is clearly of latino/hispanic origin, not one of those blonde haired, blue eyed "white hispanics". Ordinarily if a kid even posts mass shooting in Facebook it gets hysterical coverage but now the media just wants this one to go away.
