Today and tomorrow are the 19th Anniversary of the Christian-Newsom torture-murder Knoxville Horror.

Last month on december 12, there was a hearing in Knoxville, tennessee regarding the aftermath of the Knoxville Horror murders of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom on January 6-7, 2007.
The only defendant, Lemaricus Davidson, who was sentenced to death, had appeared in court in june seeking a lesser sentence, the latest attempt by Davidson and his legal team to undo previous court decisions.
Davidson's sentence was upheld. Also, judge Ash denied Davidson's request to again file for post-conviction relief. Davidson (his lawyers) had said he wasn't given the right resources during his first post-conviction hearing, claiming that new evidence had come to light that may change his case. [N.S.: That's a lie. Defense attorneys, and even corrupt prosecutors, such as Robert Morgenthau, for heinous black and hispanic criminals always assert that "new evidence" has come to light, e.g., in the central park five hoax, when nothing new has arisen] Judge Ash denied the request, as tennessee law only allows one post-conviction hearing.
judge Ash also said Davidson filed too late for coram nobis relief. While Davidson had said new expert reports and opinions could change his case, those appeals generally need to be filed within a year of conviction.
The denials mean Davidson's case will proceed under existing rulings.
It is anybody's guess as to whether the execution will ever be carried out.
