The Poem of Immigrants: An English-Language, Internet Trope that’s been Floating around in the Ether

The Poem of Immigrants: An English-Language, Internet Trope that’s been Floating around in the Ether By A Colleague

Allegedly by Boucar Diouf

I cross the ocean penniless. I get on the bus and meet people for jobs. The nice man treats me well here. He tells me that I have to contact the welfare.

At the welfare office, I am told: "You do not need to come here anymore, we will deliver the money to you at home." Welfare checks make you richer! The 'health insurance' card keeps you healthy! Here and there I get a lot of money. Thanks to you idiotic Canadians!

I write to my friends from my home country. I tell them to come as fast as they can. They come with their turbans and their Toyota trucks and buy big houses with their welfare checks.

They come to live with us Together we make even more money with our wellness checks! Fourteen families live together, but the neighbors’ patience seems to be weakening. Finally, they go elsewhere.

So, I buy their house and I say: “Let’s find more immigrants to rent our homes.” And in the yard, I put a tent.

Everything gets better and in no time we own the surroundings. We have a hobby called “production.” Welfare takes care of feeding our babies. Do children need dentists? Do women need pills? We receive them for free! No Bills To Pay Canadians Are A Little Crazy! They work throughout the year to ensure that the well-being continues.

We think Canada is a very good place to live. It’s too good for the Canadian breed! If they don’t like us, they can leave. There is plenty of room for them in Afghanistan!

A colleague writes that Boucar Diouf is an African biology teacher married to a Quebec woman, and a bit of a celebrity in Quebec. However, other sources tell me that this poem has been floating around in the ether for about ten years.

A.C.: There is a reference to dental care. Dental care is not covered under the provincially administered health care plans (partial coverage is a benefit under various employment plans), but refugees get free dental care for basic services.

With record high unemployment and business failures due to all the pandemic shutdowns, the government of Canada is planning to massively increase immigration to over 400,000 annually.

Makes sense to me, if you’re trying to abolish Canada as we knew it. I’m guessing that Boucar Diouf will lose his darling status with the CBC.

I’m guessing Boucar’s name has been associated with something he has no involvement with – his statement seems to be simply a reworking of the following, which has been circulating for years:

I come for visit, get treated regal,
So I stay, who care I illegal?
I cross ocean, poor and broke,
Take bus, see employment folk.
Nice man treat me good in there,
Say I need to see welfare.

Welfare say, “You come no more,
We send cash right to your door.”
Welfare checks, they make you wealthy,
Medicare it keep you healthy!
By and by, I got plenty money,
Thanks to you, Australian dummy.

Write to friends in motherland,
Tell them come as fast as you can.
They come in turbans and Ford trucks,
I buy big house with welfare bucks.
They come here, we live together,
More welfare checks, it gets better!

Fourteen families they moving in,
But neighbor's patience wearing thin.
Finally, white guy moves away,
Now I buy his house, and then I say,
“Find more aliens for house to rent.”
And in the yard I put a tent.

Send for family (they just trash),
But they, too, draw the welfare cash!
Everything is very good,
And soon we own the neighborhood.
We have hobby-it's called breeding,
Welfare pay for baby feeding.

Kids need dentist? Wife need pills?
We get free! We got no bills!
Australian crazy! He pay all year,
To keep welfare running here.
We think Australia darn good place!
Too darn good for the white man race.

If they no like us, they can scram,
Got lots of room in Pakistan.

AC: I don’t think “Australian” was in the version I first encountered, so it was jarring to get to Pakistan at the end. But there’s also an American version that ends with a more-obvious reference to Mexico.

What's inferred is the problem--rewarding these loser foreigners for coming here. The voters have nothing to say about it either--not anymore. All we can do is just watch the country take on water--but instead of H20,what we're drowning in is M2N--Mexicans,two times the amount of nig*ers--but add them up and Whites are running out of time to survive.

Several versions of this around for some time. And all are correct. Dental care is a must and covered if a mess of rotten teef that can ruin your health.
