N.S.: Toddlers walk; babies crawl. They can stand, but have to hold onto something, like a crib rail. You never forget that.

The dog snapped. Don't get between the dog and the food bowl. Sorta like don't get between a Chinaman and his rice bowl.
Yes, it was a pit bull mix, of course. The baby's name was A'myrikal--judging by the weird name and the baby's looks, the father was probably black. I socialized our dog, a poodle mix, by feeding him on my lap. Now I can reach in his bowl while he is eating and he will not be bothered. I used the same technique with a wild raccoon--feeding her from a bowl on my lap--I could pet that raccoon while she was eating, no problem. In spite of pit bull defenders telling us how wonderful they are, the overwhelming majority of people killed by dogs are killed by pitbulls. Blacks and Hispanics want pit bulls to be macho. If you have any sense, get a nice breed--especially if you have children. The lives you save could be those of your own family. Note that, as is so often the case, the owner claims there was never a problem with the pitbull--until it killed.

A guy in south Oklahoma has vicious dogs who have attacked people in the past and even killed a man!!! The same man's dogs recently attacked a seven-year-old girl. The girl survived.

For the mother in Oklahoma: get a clue--get a gun--best way to stop pit bulls. And in the excitement you will probably miss a lot so get one with a large magazine. That way, if the trailer trash dog owner comes over, you will have plenty of bullets left for him.
