Breaking: Larry McMurtry Dead at 84
N.S.: This hurts, but he had a long, wonderful life.
Larry McMurtry wrote the novels that became the Oscar-winning pictures Hud, The Last Picture Show, and Terms of Endearment (which is on my Top 100 list), and what I consider the greatest miniseries of them all, Lonesome Dove.
Heck he wasn't the Bard of the Lone Star State, he was America's bard!
I wonder how his family and friends (including Ceil Cleveland, from back in ol' Archer City, Texas) are taking this.
Although I never so much as sent the man an email, somehow I am taking his death personally.
