George Floyd Family, Minneapolis Reach $27M Settlement in Lawsuit
The city of Minneapolis agreed to pay $27 million to settle a civil lawsuit from George Floyd's family over the Black man's death in police custody, even as jury selection continued in a former officer's murder trial. Floyd family attorney Ben Crump, in a prepared statement, said it was the largest pretrial civil rights settlement ever, and "sends a powerful message that Black lives do matter and police brutality against people of color must end." | | | Minneapolis to pay $27M to settle Floyd family lawsuit | The city of Minneapolis agreed to pay $27 million to settle a civil lawsuit from George Floyd's family over the Black man's death in police custody, even as jury selection continued in a former officer's murder trial. And what percentage of the money does Crump the Chump get? I venture 50 % perhaps.
I hope the "Floyd Famblee" takes that money--and travels out to California and buys a mansion right next to Cher or Clooney.
It would serve them right(They'd move you know).
Why these cities pay out millions, when the criminal case has not been determined,is another example of how this country has collapsed--the strategy is idiotic,to say the least.

Chicago for example has insurance to cover these settlements. And Chicago has a lot of civil suits involving cops killing suspects. Often easier and cheaper to settle out of court.
What amount of premiums does Chicago pay(they must be massive)--and why would any insurance company take on a big city that has negroes in it for this type of insurance coverage? The risk would seem to overwhelmingly disallow the insurance companies from doing so.
