75 Years Ago, the World's First Modern Computer Made Its Public Debut

PGCE-P: Did Nubians invent this in the land of Wakanda?

My late father programmed electromechanical computers for the War Department during WW II.

R.C.: He programmed in assembly language https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assembly_language and later in RPG and COBOL.

R.C.: He played hooky from his job one day.

The military police came to my grandmother's house and brought him back to work at the War Department.

He might have been 18 years old at the time.

Not bad for growing up in absolute poverty during the Great Depression.

He and his 9 brothers and sisters grew up in the left-hand unit of the duplex.

Somewhere behind the scenes there was a negress doing all the hard work. The whitey co-workers stole her ideas and took all the credit. I am sure. Not.
