Dear [Deleted]: I am thrilled to announce that [sic] Dr. John Lott's return as president of the Crime Prevention Research Center. We have been very lucky to have Andrew Pollack run things, and we are sorry to see him leave. Lott is one of the few people who have both an academic research background and can write popular pieces. Lott's appointment at the Department of Justice generated more opposition than almost any other Trump appointment, with an unprecedented move of all the Senate Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee signing a letter objecting to his hire. Gun control activists also launched a fierce email and telephone campaign demanding that [sic] Lott's firing. But Lott's political appointee position at Justice ends with the end of the Trump Administration. With Democrats painting a picture of armed insurrectionists storming state Capitols this coming week, gun control advocates will be pushing hard to ban carrying concealed handguns at state Capitols. We have updated our research on state Capitols that allow guns to be carried and a history of that experience. The bottom line is simple: despite decades of experience, no one has been hurt by letting people carry guns at these Capitols. As usual, gun control activists are left with stories about what might happen, not what actually happens. My stalker, who murdered my husband, was finally charged with continuing to stalk me from prison. Unfortunately, I have been told by the Tennessee Department of Corrections officials that they are more fearful of the prisoner rights advocates than the victims. They refuse to take away the murderer's good time early release credits even while he was writing love letters to me from prison. I have a piece on all this at Townhall and did interviews with Cam Edwards and New Hampshire's WSMN radio. I also gave a couple of interviews on the dangers of gun-free zones. Prisons way more dangerous places too than on the outside. You have a whole concentrated bunch of bad guys in one spot.
