Remember, Lest We Forget

"It is this history of Islamic aggression—beginning in the fourteenth century when Muslims first established a foothold in Eastern Europe (Thrace), and into the twentieth century when the Ottoman sultanate finally collapsed—that informs Eastern European views on Islam.  As one modern Pole, echoing the words of Sobieski, said, "A religious war between Christianity and Islam is once again underway in Europe, just like in the past."
"Whereas Western nations cite lack of integration, economic disparities, and grievances to explain away the exponential growth of terrorism, violence, and sexual assaults that come with living alongside large, resistant-to-assimilation Muslim populations, Eastern nations tend to see only a continuity of hostility."
=====
Reminds me of a quote from a former Israeli Intel head to an early July assemblage of European ambassadors to Israel — from an article [...] shared a couple of weeks ago:
Brig. Gen. (Res.) Yossi Kuperwasser [director of JCPA (Jewish Center for Public Affair)'s Project on Regional Middle East Developments and former head of the IDF Military Intelligence Research Division, in a speech to a gathering of European ambassadors to Israel in Tel Aviv on July 4, 2019] on the threat muslims pose to Europe:
"Kuperwasser called out European governments for not properly dealing with the extremist organizations already operating in their countries, noting that indoctrination towards violent extremism is rampant in Islamic education in Europe, in the European prison system and among converts to Islam . . . Kuperwasser also warned against turning a blind eye to what he called 'soft' radicalism. Issues that might not seem problematic now, he said, could become much more so in the future . . . many Muslims adhere to an Islamic doctrine that calls for them to be less aggressive while living under the sovereignty of non-Muslims, with the belief that they will later become rulers themselves."
"Just because they currently live as a minority in Europe," he said, "does not mean that Muslims have given up the idea that Islam should one day be in the majority."
And at the same conference, a further dose of Eastern European reality as regards Islam --- from Czech ambassador ambassador Martin Stropnicky:
"...most of the people that are immigrating [to Europe] now do not want to accept our cultural milieu, but want us to accept theirs. And that is not acceptable."  ("European ambassadors seek insight from Israel on coping with global migrant crisis, JEWISH NEWS SYNDICATE, July 9, 2019):
Here is the website for the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs (JPCA), which sponsored the study "Migration into Europe: An Existential Dilemma" and the related workshop or conference for European leaders earlier this month. There you can also download a 9 MB PDF file of the study itself.

They become the head and you become the tail. And that is with them only a very small minority. What will it be like when they are either the majority or even a much larger number but still a minority?

Can't we all learn to get along? They certainly cannot.
