These submarines when they catch fire too the blaze hard to control of extinguish. They pick the sub up with a crane and dip the boat into the water to put out the fire. Explosive gases and fluids on the sub make fighting the fire additionally difficult.
I recall a story a few months back that since BMW was having such a hard time getting rid of these cars, certain people were able to lease them for about $50/month. Good deal for a car that sells for $150k
