Naked Marvin Gaye: Hear Him Sing “Heard It Through the Grapevine” with No Accompaniment! (Video)

Re-posted by Nicholas Stix

Not bad. For the first time, I was able to hear all of the lyrics. Most pop singers--especially nowadays--need all sorts of musicians and production values to hide their voices. Not Marvin Gaye; his instrument was himself. What a loss.

Yes, the days when black people made great music, the days before (c)rap took over. Marvin Gaye's version is great but I still put it 3rd behind Gladys Knight & John Fogerty's Credence Clearwater performances.
