Whenever I realize there's no reason to ever read any sports "reporting," nostalgia draws me back--and I rue the day!
black Mike Tomlin was the head coach of the Pittsburgh steelers for the last 19 seasons. He just retired, after his team suffered yet another early playoff defeat, its seventh in a row. The story below promises the inside scoop on Tomlin's resignation, and espn operatives Brooke Pryor and Jeremy Fowler did speak to several sources on the team, but they came up with nothing. There is no inside scoop.
"in his wednesday news conference, [steelers owner Art II] Rooney said that Tomlin communicated to him he wanted to spend more time with his family."
That is usually a euphemism for someone getting fired, and no serious reporter would buy a line like that. Oddly, Art Rooney insisted that he had not fired Tomlin, and the "thing" acted as if the decision had been entirely Tomlin's, but that's not credible.

The fambilee will wait,if a five year $100 million offer comes along. Media turned Epps into a black Lombardi, without the championships.
Oh well, msm, never let facts get in the way of making a blackie "iconic".
