“Mister Ed” Lyrics
By Ray Evans (1915-2007) and Jay Livingston (1915-2001)

Hello, I'm Mr. Ed

A horse is a horse, of course, of course,
And no one can talk to a horse, of course,
That is, of course, unless the horse
Is the famous Mr. Ed.

Go right to the source and ask the horse,
He’ll give you the answer that you’ll endorse,
He’s always on a steady course.
Talk to Mr. Ed.

Closing Theme:

A horse is a horse, of course, of course,
And no one can talk to a horse, of course,
That is, of course, unless the horse is the famous Mr. Ed.

Go right to the source, and ask the horse,
He’ll give you the answer that you’ll endorse,
He’s always on a steady course,
Talk to Mr. Ed.

People yakkity yak a streak,
and waste your time of day,
But Mister Ed will never speak,
Unless he has something to say.

A horse is a horse, of course, of course,
And this one’ll talk ‘til his voice is hoarse.
You never heard of a talking horse?
Well, listen to this:

I am Mister Ed.

All I can think about is how every show of all three networks had all White cast members--up until when--"Julia"--appeared in 1968.

Back in the days of Mr.Ed,were shows that attempted many outlandish concepts:"My Favorite Martian","Bewitched","I Dream of Jeannie","Flipper","My Mother the Car"--and those were just the non-science fiction entries."

The purpose of TV shows in the 1960s was to entertain--and most of the time they did.Name one show now that comes close.

"Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" was my "can't miss" show as a kid."Time Tunnel" also.

But I remember Mr Ed to some degree.I believe it came on Sundays--before Ed Sullivan--which was loaded with talented performers.

That's your history lesson for the day.

His brain is the brain of a horse of course,
And horses are known to be dumb, of course,
His wife would love to get a divorce,
Speaking of Joe Biden.

A human that's only as smart as a horse,
You'd never elect him your POTUS,of course.
The thoughts that he needs, his brain cannot force.
Speaking of Joe Biden.
