Back in the early to mid 70s(when I was growing up),you heard country songs mixed with pop, mixed with rock on the radio.Charlie Rich had crossover hits,Dolly Parton,Linda Ronstadt and Loretta Lynn. The big controversy I remember was a song called,"The Pill,"as told by a woman with 10 kids--who didn't want anymore.Of course, the huge hit was "Coal Miner's Daughter",but that's all I remember about Ms.Lynn.
Great voice--similar to June Carter.

I don't know her music very well either but I do recall some of her songs, and usually liked them, her biopic "Coal Miners Daughter" was very entertaining and from little I know about country music Ms. Lynn was perhaps second only to Dolly Parton as a female country writing and singing double threat. Hard a hard life but lived a long one, and one of the last great old time country artists.
Loretta Lynn and Naomi Judd both gone within several weeks. Too bad. A great loss.
