White, Grand Rapids cop shoots black motorist dead after traffic stop—local tv pumps up the race angle; so, was it “suicide-by-cop,” a black felon’s attempted murder of a White cop, or a black felon simply deciding that no White cop has a right to arrest him for breaking “the White man’s laws”?

GRA: A later report at 11 p.m. on TV, described the motorist as black.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (wood) — An officer shot and killed a man Monday morning on the city’s southeast side, police say.

Around 8:10 a.m., an officer pulled over a vehicle near Nelson Avenue SE and Griggs Street SE.

[negro territory.]

Police say the driver fled from the vehicle but was apprehended by the officer.

[GRA: He ran—he’s black.]

grpd says they still don’t know if the driver was armed, or what lead to the initial traffic stop, but after running the license plate, the officer discovered it didn’t match the car, grand rapids police department Chief Eric Winstrom said.

It is unclear if the vehicle was stolen.

Winstrom said the driver got out of the car and ran away because he was going to be taken into custody. When the officer caught up to him, they fought.

[N.S.: “They” didn’t “fight.” The black perp committed assault and battery against the White cop in resisting arrest. But I have no sympathy for police, in this regard. They constantly lie about blacks committing assault and battery against Whites, saying, “They had a verbal dispute, “They scuffled,” “They fought.”]

“It was kind of a wrestling match. A taser was used. The taser didn’t work,” said a witness who didn’t want to be identified.

[N.S.: Note the passive voice.]

The witness said he tried to calm the driver down.

“I told him, ‘Just stay down man. Please just stay down. Don’t make it worse man, and it will be OK,'” the witness said.

But the driver continued to struggle with the officer.

[N.S.: But the perp continued to batter the officer, and resist arrest.]

That “lengthy fight” ended with the officer opening fire and killing the man, Winstrom said.

“During the struggle, the officer lost his body camera,” Winstrom said. “We can see that the camera is still on scene and still activated. So, we’re anxious to recover that camera and review that video.”

During an afternoon press conference, Winstrom explained that body cameras are attached to officers either with a metal plate inside their shirt, a vest carrier or by a hook. It’s unclear how the officer’s camera was attached.

“They’re fairly secure if you run, but if you’re in a fight with an individual, it’s not that difficult to dislodge,” he said.

Winstrom said he intends to release the body camera footage “sometime next week.”

“…That gives us enough time to allow the Michigan State Police to conduct a fair investigation without that information being in the public, and it will give me a chance to reach out to the family, who I think has the right to see the video before the rest of the public,” Winstrom said.

The officer, who is White, was injured. Police initially said he was taken to the hospital but later clarified that he was treated on the scene.

The officer’s name was also not released Monday. Winstrom said he has been with the department for about seven years.

GRA: The new, White police chief looked like he had a parched throat, talking today. Welcome to Grand Rapids.

I have a feeling "Uncle Ben" Crump will be flying in to counsel the famblee for a black lotto possibility. This,to me,sounds not like suicide, but a Rayshard Brooks replay--not a lot of details available though e.g.:black thug's name, was he packing etc.

GRA: This portion of the incident sounds exactly like the Floyd fiasco.Remember the old black guy trying to tell Floyd to cooperate?

(woodtv)The witness tried to calm the driver down.

“I told him, ‘Just stay down man. Please just stay down. Don’t make it worse man, and it will be OK,'” the witness said.

GRA:The good any of that did Chauvin.

CONGO IMMIGRANT IDENTIFIED AS DECEASED--FATHER(NO SPEAK ENGLISH)SOUNDS LIKE HE WANTS TROUBLE.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The man who was shot and killed by a Grand Rapids police officer Monday has been identified as Patrick Lyoya, 26.

Family released his name to News 8 on Tuesday. He was originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and came to the United States seven years ago.

“The astonishing thing is my son was not killed by a criminal, but my son was killed by a police officer,” his father, Peter Lyoya, said using an interpreter. “The one that was supposed to be protecting them, watching over them, taking care of them, that is the person who killed my son.”

He said police are not allowing him to see his son’s body.

Why GRPD officers are given 72 hours before questioning in deadly force cases
Police Chief Eric Winstrom met with Patrick Lyoya’s family on Tuesday, GRPD said. His father said he wants answers, but said he did not get any during the meeting.

Around 8:10 a.m. Monday, a GRPD officer pulled Patrick Lyoya over near Nelson Avenue SE and Griggs Street SE. Police say he fled but was apprehended by the officer.

He struggled with the officer and after a “lengthy fight” the officer shot and killed him, Winstrom said on Monday.

The officer’s name has not been released.

As I mentioned several times: the DRC has been the largest source of 'refugees' coming to the US for many years now -- he was undoubtedly one of them; there are very few other plausible paths (other than the insane 'diversity' visa lottery) for someone from the DRC (average IQ less than 80) to end up in the US.

Michigan among top 5 states for most refugees in the last decade

Perhaps in no other area is HBD denial so harmful is in the handling of 'refugees', where western nations are indiscriminately importing the dregs of the third world using the worst possible criterion: how unstable and shithole-ish they've made their own parts of the world.

Correct. Trying to make both parties guilty to some extent. The argument, the altercation, a confrontation, etc.

"Michigan among top 5 states for most refugees in the last decade"

I have always wondere3d about that. Why do they send these refugees from tropical areas to a place where they have a cold climate the refugee will find totally unsuitable to what he/she/it is accustomed to.
