Elliot Gould is 83,Donald Sutherland is 85--unbelievable.

The first three years of the TV show were among the most enjoyable programs ever created. My pattern was, whenever they were on local television reruns,I'd watch every show, either live or taping it--but only those first three seasons. Then I wouldn't watch it again for a while.THEN,they'd turn up on some cable network,so I'd watch the first three seasons again. This went on until M*A*S*H finally made it to places like netflix(which I'd never subscribe to.)

So,it's been a few years.The best episodes?Buying ribs from Chicago,Colonel Flagg,poker games,Alex Karras,Radar seduces a shy enlistee,the war is over(but Trapper doesn't believe it).Just about all of them from 1972-1975.

Outside the school they both attend.

Rodney:Let's go out tonight.
Kellerman:I have class.
Rodney:What about tomorrow night?
Kellerman:I have class then too.
Rodney:Well, call me when you don't have any class.

MASH was a great movie, despite that it was one of those films that helped usher in Woke ideology. However, I thought it also underlined the hypocrisy of leftism, especially in the area of feminism. It was the scene Kellerman was most famous for, no, not the "Hot Lips" scene but the one where Hawkeye et al... rigged the shower walls to collapse while the entire MASH unit watched Hot Lips naked body be exposed. Let's look at the underlying message (or overt one): It's OK to commit a sexual attack against a woman who is politically conservative, but it would never have been acceptable if it had been a liberal one. We see the same attitude being played out today in a culture dominated by Woke/liberal/prog ideology and MASH had a hand in bringing it about.

I did really like MASH the series, at least the first 5 seasons where it continued on with the manic humor of the movie. After that it became Alan Alda's pulpit and the laugh quotient went down while the leftist preaching went up. Didn't help that they lost Frank Burns who gave Hawkeye an extreme character to conflict with and was replaced by the bland David Ogden Stiers. In fact, none of the new characters that came in later were as good as the previous ones, the only exception I thought was Harry Morgan who could have been a great character for Hawkeye to play off of but they made him a sympathetic one. It would have been better if they had made him an opponent to Hawkeye, kind of a Frank Burns with some actual power.

Whenever I catch reruns on TV, if it's from the first 5 seasons I'll sit down and watch it. Even though I've seen them all I still find them worth watching over, which is always a sign of a great series. But if it's an episode from later on, even if it's one I haven't seen, I turn the channel.

If you want a chuckle, read the comments on this story: https://www.breitbart.com/entertainment/2022/02/25/sanctions-russia-booted-from-eurovision-song-contest/
Yes, I'm sure Putin will reconsider invading the Ukraine over the Eurovision singing competition. I was impressed and amused at the variety of ways BB readers came up with pointing that out.
