Forbes on the Cost of Low Literacy Levels in the USA
https://www.forbes.com/sites/michaeltnietzel/2020/09/09/low-literacy-levels-among-us-adults-could-be-costing-the-economy-22-trillion-a-year/?sh=593f85c34c90
"W": Read this a couple of times. The second paragraph should be the first [54% of American adults are illiterate] and the first couple of sentences, estimating the $$ costs, should be second.
The 54% will be/are being replaced by AI. But their demise will lead to a crash in certain other sectors of the economy, which I won't miss.

Literacy among whitey OK. You mix in the dark skinned persons of whatever ethnicity and you drag the statistics way down. Even whitey being dumbed down too.
It used to be functional illiterates had menial factory work to support them. That all gone now and for some time.
“America’s low literacy crisis is largely ignored, historically underfunded and woefully under-researched,"
Just lazy persons that don't care and will never care most of them.
Not poor schools. Poor students.
