Steve Sailer: “Somebody suggested to me recently that younger generations neither achieve nor aspire to being cool. That may explain some otherwise puzzling artifacts, such as Twitter’s What’s Happening alerts…”
[“The Unbearable Lameness of Twitter,” by Steve Sailer, iSteve, March 20, 2021.]
Andrew R: “That’s obviously only true if ‘cool’ is defined to mean whatever ‘cool’ meant in [insert arbitrary year here back when we had to walk uphill both ways to school].
“Going back to your youth in the Cretaceous period, I doubt your grandparents’ generation cared too much for what your generation thought of as ‘cool.’ So it’s not too surprising that you aren’t too down with the kids these days.
“In retrospect, everything that is happening todsy [sic] can be traced pretty clearly back to the days back when you boomers were out being Cool™”
@AndrewR
N.S.: I thought “cool” meant insouciantly breaking all the rules civilization depends on, while expecting everyone else to follow them.

@Nicholas Stix
“That is a great definition, and it perfectly fits today’s movers and shakers, as abhorrent as the Unz.com commentariat might find them.”
[N.S.: I thanked Andrew.]

Got to ax' a black person what cool is. They know above all. Sure. Go ax' em'.
Steve Sailer used to be cool--before he ignored the BIG STEAL and claimed Trump lost the election. Sailer isn't stupid--is he blind or cowardly? Perhaps he was blinded by seeing everything in racial terms. Many whites are leftists, liberals, or sheeple feeding off the Mainstream Marxist Media--Trump may have lost some of these fools, but he still got more votes than any other incumbent. Or maybe Sailer was afraid of cancel culture? VDare on the whole did a terrible job--ignoring the biggest political event in decades--one that may forever change the country AND result in a turd world invasion like we have never before seen. Glad to see that N.S. recognizes the Big Steal and pointed out the weakness of Tucker and Steyn on this issue. Stix can't be intimidated!
Go back and watch mid 20th century television right when the first signs of the anti culture were starting to come out and it's clear "cool" was mimicking black jazz musicians.
