The run-up to civil war, then and now
The South "spread narratives of victimhood"? That makes it sound like their grievances against the North were unjustified. The North was exploiting the South economically, while treating them like hillbilly trash-a situation which is indeed similar to how "conservatives" are being treated today. Lincoln denied them their constitutional right to secede, which parallels the current continually-thwarted efforts of rural areas in some states to break away from the death-grip of urban centers. Lincoln finally manipulated the South into war in order to vanquish them, a la FDR with Japan and the current efforts to provoke Russia into violence so they can be blasted off the earth.
The trouble with Civil War, as Barnhardt has pointed out, is that there's no Mason-Dixon Line separating the combatants-every state has its urban centers filled with bad guys. And if the East and West coast cities did secede, Middle America would easily be outflanked-especially if China sends in troops! And most Whites these days are so drugged-up they couldn't fight an army of girl scouts.
