Gavin Newsom and the sat

See you on Celebrity Press Your Luck, chump. I just looked up one unremarkable middle-ish state college in the northeast (which of course now calls itself a "university") and 1130 is their average SAT. Higher than I would have guessed. The SAT must be even more dumbed-down than I thought. Since Newscum is age 58, his 960 predates when the college board "recentered" the scoring and equates to a 1070 now, going by https://www.greenes.com/html/convert.htm. So he's almost average for an everyday state college. The nearest community college doesn't give any SAT score data. The state's flagship university has about a 1400 SAT average. Must be a lot of foreign students taking the SAT to compensate for the native dolts who go into the K-12 teacher ed. programs. So Newscum effectively told his audience "my 960 is better than your 960" but neither he nor his audience would understand why. The pander worked. He could have said it with an ebonic accent and they'd still vote for him. He could have promised 173 bonus points to every test taker of colour and got away with it. Why 173? "Thus, on the combined test, Blacks had a mean score of 904 and Whites had a mean score of 1077." and if you can't believe the Journal of bLACK hIGHER eDUCATION, who can you believe? (https://jbhe.com/2025/10/the-racial-gap-in-scores-on-the-sat-college-entrance-examination/) And they're all geniuses compared to the remedial students in an open-admission 2-year college where I was once sadly employed. Their math SATs were in the 300s and their student loan balances in the 10,000s. The administration fixed that problem. They got rid of the remedial courses and now the precious young scholars go directly into the credit courses. Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 8:49:00 PM EST
