CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 7-Eleven in the Fulton River District was hit twice early Monday morning, Chicago police said.
Chopper 7 was over the scene at Milwaukee Avenue and Halsted Street later Monday.
(GRA:They going to rob the store too?)
Police say three male suspects smashed through the front glass door, stole two cash registers and took off, heading north, in a black sedan just after 12:40 a.m.
(GRA:Is there money in those registers? I thought not after closing.)
But the crime didn't end there.
Moments later, two more male suspects walked in through the broken door and grabbed more items.
No one is in custody.
Area Three detectives are investigating.
On the Northwest Side, a man inside a business was pistol-whipped during an armed robbery about an hour later, police said.
GRA:Thought I'd throw a robbery story in for change of pace.
