GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids police say four teens jumped a man, seriously injuring him, and then broke into his home in a crime the chief described as “very heinous.”
“Individual was attacked by a group of young people, robbed, beaten very severely, life-threatening injuries,” Grand Rapids Police Department Chief Eric Winstrom said. “…Then had his house burglarized, likely by the same individuals who beat him.”
It happened on Aug. 16. Around 8:30 a.m., officers were called to a report of a burglary at a home on 8th Avenue NW near Parkhurst Avenue on the city’s West Side. The person who called 911 wasn’t the person who lived in the home. Worried about the resident, GRPD said officers tried to call him, but he didn’t answer.

Later the same day, police got a call from the hospital about an unidentified man who had been brought in by ambulance around 6 a.m. and was listed in critical condition.
“Officers had not been notified of, nor dispatched to, the ambulance call,” GRPD noted in a Tuesday release.
When officers got to the hospital, they confirmed the injured man was the resident of the home where the break-in happened.
He was identified as White man,Todd Johnson.(GRA:Photo of him in the hospital).Police said he was beaten unconscious and bloody--and left on the road. Afterwards,the thugs broke into his house and finally, stole his car.
Winstrom said,"It is unlikely Mr.Johnson knew his attackers,."
THAT'S the euphemism for this black gang on White beating.
The area is mixed--filling in with blacks --the last 15 years. I wouldn't walk that area at night on a dare,but probably for $10,000 dollars,I'd think about it.

I need to correct the description of the neighborhood. It is actually a very nice area--not where I thought 8th and Parkhurst were initially. This area is 99-100% White--about two miles in the OPPOSITE direction of where I thought the streets were at first. Parkhurst threw me off.
This is a short driving distance from where blacks live in fairly large numbers.
From everything I heard on tonight's news,GRPD are pushing the Kent County prosecutor to try the tykes as adults.

The victim looks like he's rather young. 30, maybe? That's one huge gash on his head, between the damage done by the so-called "attackers'" and the surgeon's treatment. Poor guy. No such thing as a full recovery from that.
