In some vague way the news was "disclosed to congress."

How, who knows? Nobody links to any reports, nobody has any instant foia demands, I can't even find anything about it at judicial watch. It's just slipped into various stories.

Cue the righteous rage by the usual microphonophiles.

The script says that the rest of us are supposed to be dancing with joy, because we finally got 'em this time! Even though:

(a) we already kind of knew it before this stunning, earth-shattering, game-changing revelation;

(b) yahoo is already "fact-checking" it away, creating the new conventional wisdom that oh, those agents were just dispatched on short notice because of what was happening on jan. 6.

But congress isn't serious about january 6, anyway. It took Mike McBible until SEPTEMBER, eight months into the term, to set up a committee.

Then five weeks' vacation.

Now they're back, but occupied with whatever kind of keep-the-government-open business-as-usual budget-buster they can pass to avoid a shutdown.

Thanksgiving and Christmas vacations are coming up, too.

Don't expect a whole lot from whatever hearings they manage to squeeze in. Someone found time to get the chairman, Barry Loudermilk, to mumble something about hearings and subpoenas.

Yeah, I'm sure they're all quaking with fear, whispering, "But look what they did to Ray Epps! And Michael Byrd!," followed by uproarious laughter and ordering another round of beers.

Oh, but our side came up with funny memes with seashells about James Comey being indicted. Remember, 2064, vote for Barron Trump in the presidential primary, because he pledges to release all the january 6 files and "hold 'them' accountable."

and five minutes later, here's Jack Cashill to my inbox with a column with a link to the report, complete with watermark, "FOR HJC ONLY NOT FOR EXTERNAL DISSEMINATION" 50 page pdf file.

In the "274" line on the spreadsheet: "This number includes agents that responded to... blah blah blah" - so there's the yahoo pseudo-fact-check.

And that's the way it is, four years, eight months, and three weeks after the event. In other news, we're supposed to cheer on Marjorie Candace Owens Greene screeching about Jasmine Crockett, and cheer on the republicans at large, as they hold the line at a $2 trillion deficit, even though Schumer and Hakeem want to make it $3.5 trillion.

Thrilling. Yay team. The troops are really fired up.
