Pocket change these days. Why doesn't Moody Foundation--whom I've never heard of--send checks to EVERY college? It's all fake money anyways--or donate a thousand bitcoins? Incredible.

The Moody Foundation had total assets $3.8 billion as of 12/31/2023. Lots of lower grants, mostly five-figure amounts, listed in this report. PDF. Some other Moody, not D.L., by the way.

Hope it works out better for Huston-Tillotson (who???) than Ray Charles' 2001 gift to his hometown HBCU as described in this old story. Talk about robbing a blind man. That HBCU eventually returned the money to his estate.

Yes, it turns out that there is a Journal of Blacks in Higher Education. They have a story today that says "Nearly 30 percent of all Black Americans over age 25 held at least a bachelor's degree in 2024, compared to over 38 percent of White American adults. The gap in graduate degree attainment is much smaller, with 9 percent of Black adults and 11 percent of White adults holding a master's degree as their highest level of education."

Well, hate to break it to you, but the ratios 38/30 and 11/9 are about the same, 1.27 vs 1.22. But that's understandable. Math is hard. And Math is racist, too.

See you at the UNC vs. Huston-Tillotson game this weekend. This time bet the Over on Coach Belichick's score vs. Jordon Hudson's age. Actually, I'm more confident than that. Take the Over on points vs. Jordon Hudson's breast measurement. Coach may be sweating it out if it's 35-0 with time running out. Does he take the easy field goal or go for it on fourth down?
