Later in that same story: ... remittances represent even larger shares of GDP: over 25 percent in Nicaragua and Honduras, 23.5 percent in El Salvador, and 19.5 percent in Guatemala, compared with roughly 3 percent in Mexico.
So many espaƱol convenience stores here in nowheresville flyover ag country far from the interstate. The windows plastered with signs for "enviar dinero" and phone plans with lots of different countries' flags.
And the rest of the world. Asia? Harjinder Singh making the U-turn on the Florida Turnpike. The "distracted" bus driver on I-90 and his passengers. The Times of India, via Steyn this morning: Sikh advocacy groups estimate there are approximately 150,000 to 200,000 Sikhs working in the trucking industry, with around 90% (135,000 to 180,000) being drivers. They constitute about 18% of the total truck drivers in the US and up to 40% are based in California.
