“three people were killed and nine others wounded when up to four gunmen opened fire in a possible gang-related shooting at a brooklyn hookah lounge around closing time early sunday, authorities said.
“it was the second mass shooting in the city in weeks — occurring after a nut stormed a swanky midtown skyscraper late last month and shot dead four innocent people before turning the gun on himself.
“'I can easily stand here and tell you that we have driven down crime, that we have removed over 2,000 illegal guns off our street,' a grim-faced mayor Eric Adams told reporters during a briefing on sunday’s violence and mentioning the other recent mass shooting.
“'I can give you those numbers and those stats. but that does not comfort those who are victims of gun violence,” he said.

(abc ny)Marvin St. Louis, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene. Amadou Diallo, 27, and Jamel Childs, 35, were critically wounded and succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
The remaining victims are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at nearby hospitals, according to NYC Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch.
Video shows a crush of people inside the lounge running for their lives. Some in the crowd were injured trying to get away from what authorities say was a gang-related shooting.

Police say three people were killed and nine others were injured. Witnesses say there was an argument between two groups towards the back of the lounge, but they appeared to work it out. Some time later, things flared back up.

The gunmen took off.
The lounge put out a statement saying in part, 'the safety and well-being of our guests and community has always been our top priority.'

(KSDK)ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. — Police have a teen suspect in custody after a man was stabbed to death in south St. Louis County.
St. Louis County police said on Sunday at around 4:30 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Carrington Lane in Lemay.
Officers found the victim, 39-year-old Derrick Merit, in his home with life-threatening stab wounds. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Monday, police said a 15-year-old suspect was arrested and held by St. Louis County Family Court on charges of second-degree murder and armed criminal action.
Police said the suspect and victim are related, but did not say exactly how.

Police responded to reports of a shooting on Sunday at 4:50 p.m. and found a man unresponsive on E 10th street. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No other details are available.
