GRA: Breaking news: John Ratcliffe will head the cia. According to abc, Ratcliffe is “a Trump loyalist.”
I’m not sure about the Rubio pick, but at least P.T. is picking some fresh blood for his cabinet. This SEEMS like a better start.

Musk, Ramaswamy will head informal “department of government efficiency”

GRA: Oxymoron of the year.
“nov 12 (Reuters) - U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on tuesday named Elon Musk to a role aimed at creating a more efficient government, handing even more influence to the world’s richest man who donated millions of dollars to helping Trump get elected.
“Musk and former republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy will co-lead a newly created department of government efficiency, an entity Trump indicated will operate outside the confines of government.
“Trump said in a statement that Musk and Ramaswamy ‘will pave the way for my administration to dismantle government bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure federal agencies.’
Trump said the new department will realize long-held republican dreams and ‘provide advice and guidance from outside of government,’ signaling the Musk and Ramaswamy roles would be informal, without requiring senate approval and allowing Musk to remain the head of electric car company Tesla.
“the new department would work with the white house and office of management & budget to ‘drive large-scale structural reform, and create an entrepreneurial approach’ to government never seen before, Trump said.
“the work would conclude by july 4, 2026 - the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
“Musk, ranked by Forbes as the richest person in the world, already stood to benefit from Trump’s victory, with the billionaire entrepreneur expected to wield extraordinary influence to help his companies and secure favorable government treatment.

Gaetz chosen for attorney general, Gabbard in as director of national intelligence

GRA: Rubio is a rumor yet—supposedly. I hope Trump doesn’t choose him. Gaetz has baggage (rumored or true), while Gabbard (according to others) is anti-2nd amendment. At least, most of the picks are not swamp monsters.

Rubio will be secretary of state
By Grand Rapids Anonymous
wednesday, november 13, 2024 at 5:48:00 p.m. est
“(Breitbart) President-elect Donald Trump formally announced wednesday that sen. Marco Rubio (r-fl) is his pick for secretary of state.
“Trump issued a press release confirming numerous media reports that indicated Rubio would be chosen for the critical role.
“‘Marco is a highly respected leader, and a very powerful voice for freedom,’ Trump said in a statement. ‘he will be a strong advocate for our nation, a true friend to our allies, and a fearless warrior who will never back down to our adversaries.’”
GRA: The guy seems to be on the ball in interviews I’ve seen, I just never thought Trump would add him to the administration—not a true MAGA guy.

abc noise SHOCKED BY GAETZ CHOICE AS A.G.
By Grand Rapids Anonymous
wednesday, november 13, 2024 at 6:49:00 p.m. est
abc noise blubbering about Matt Gaetz as President Trump’s attorney general pick...reporters running around the capitol, attempting to find republicans who would not vote for him.
“Lindsay Graham: ‘Well, I’ll have to take a look at it.
“but abc conveyed, strenuously, there would be mass resignations in the doj, as employees there are ‘shocked.
“Gaetz was not a fan of the political warfare from biden’s justice department—including against him.
“the basic theme from the abc nutwork was that Gaetz is either not qualified or is disqualified because of the whispers about him the past few years.”
Prove the “whispers,” or shut up.

Trump makes an inspired pick by appointing Tom Homan as border czar:
https://www.npr.org/2024/11/11/nx-s1-5186522/tom-homan-border-czar-trump
Homan used to be the ice director and I believe he was the architect of operation talon which was designed to target sex criminals crossing the border. It was dismantled by the Biden/Harris admin, who want foreign sex criminals to have free reign in the U.S.
He’s been an outspoken critic of Biden/Harris’ open borders policies and is as hawkish as they come, when it comes to the border. Hope he gets something done.
I’m including a link to a story from npr, authored by an open borders operative named Sergio Martínez-Beltran, which explains the snide tone of the article. I figure npr would make someone like Homan look as bad as possible, but they really didn’t have anything, just that snarkiness.
New and improved?

He’s making some completely different choices than eight years ago (less swamp, more loyal). So far, Rubio is the only one I disagree with, though he seems to be a smart guy from his tv interviews.
