“Jackson, tenn. — we have a follow-up to the shooting that took place on Wallace road in north Jackson tuesday afternoon.

“(White) Jackson police chief Thom Corley released tragic news wednesday that a 2-year-old child has died after a recent shooting in north Jackson tuesday afternoon.

“in a news conference wednesday afternoon, Corley said one person is in custody and the incident remains an ongoing investigation.

“Corley addressed the issue of juveniles involved in gangs and gun [sic] violence in the community, speaking to the public about loved ones who are caught up [?!] in gangs.

“‘if you have a family member, particularly a juvenile or young adult who is in this lifestyle, do everything you can to get them out of it. those members who are caught up in gangs and commit violent acts are hurting your family from the inside. they are killing themselves and they are killing our children and it’s got to stop” [GRA: It’s just getting started], said chief Corley.

“chief Corley says, of the homicides jpd has investigated this year, at least five of them involve suspects between the ages of 15 and 21.

“Corley also addressed gun owners in the community.

“‘we absolutely respect the right to possess firearms and the idea of self protection. we ask, however, that you be a responsible gun owner. those who are committing acts of violence in our community are not purchasing firearms from reputable, federally licensed gun dealers. they are either stealing them from you, the lawful gunowner, or buying them on the street from someone who stole them from a lawful gun owner,” said chief Corley. [GRA: Isn’t it the police department’s job to stop this stuff?]

“chief Corley says 10 of the homicides investigated this year have involved known gang members or those who been involved in previous shootings.

“on tuesday, november 26, 2024, the Jackson police department responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Wallace road. upon arrival, they discovered five individuals suffering from multiple gunshot wounds inside an suv — 4 adults and a 2-year-old child.”

GRA: Think the vic’s fambilee won’t pay the perp’s fambilee a visit on Thanksgiving, and in black holiday tradition, attempt to carve (or shoot) the jive turkeys into little tiny pieces of dark meat? Then at Christmas they’ll switch it? Then on to kwanzaa, New Year’s Day, black history month, mlk day, memorial day weekend, juneteenth, July 4th, and all the days in between.
