“(zh) former rep. Matt Gaetz (r-fl) has withdrawn his name for consideration for attorney general, amid growing controversy over [fraudulent] sexual misconduct allegations.

“‘while the momentum was strong, it is clear that my confirmation was unfairly becoming a distraction to the critical work of the Trump/Vance Transition,’ Gaetz wrote on x.

“‘there is no time to waste on a needlessly protracted Washington scuffle, thus I’ll be withdrawing my name from consideration to serve as attorney general. Trump’s doj must be in place and ready on day 1.

“it is unknown if Gaetz will be tapped to replace Marco Rubio as the florida senator by governor Ron DeSantis, though that’s the thinking at the moment or nbc theorized Gaetz could run again for his house seat.

GRA: nbc, by the way, could not hide its pleasure at the turn of events.

I guess Trump didn’t want to squeeze him in by recess appointment.

N.S.: That was unforgivable cowardice by the President. If he keeps this up, he’ll find himself lower-cased.

What are the odds Trump picks Alvin Bragg for AG? I can hear it now:

"AB for AG," said Trump with a smile.

GRA:She's pretty good,too--hopefully with the same drive and purpose to clean out the DOJ as Gaetz would have(supposedly).

GAETZ WILL NOT RETURN TO CONGRESS

(the hill)Former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) said Friday he will not return to Congress after resigning his House seat last week, despite having withdrawn from consideration to be President-elect Trump’s attorney general — but added he is “not going anywhere.”

“I’m still going to be in the fight, but it’s going to be from a new perch. I do not intend to join the 119th Congress,” Gaetz told conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, later adding it is a “pretty poetic time” to allow Florida’s 1st District to have new representation.

There were questions about whether Gaetz may try to return to Capitol Hill for the 119th Congress — and whether he would want to — given the careful wording used in his letter announcing his resignation from the 118th Congress last week.

But he put an end to that speculation less than a day after it began.

“I’ve got other goals in life that I’m eager to pursue; my wife and my family. And so, I’m going to be fighting for President Trump. I’m going to be doing whatever he asks of me, as I always have,” Gaetz said. “But I think that eight years is probably enough time in the United States Congress.”

GRA:There's a LOT going on here and a lot of people not talking about it. But this furor is over--the swamp commies/RINOS won this one.

SENATOR MITCH McCUNTLE(McConnell)WAS ONE OF THE FOUR WHO OPPOSED GAETZ' NOMINATION(BUT HE SUPPORTED MERRICK GARLAND)

(Breitbart)Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) reportedly opposed President-elect Donald Trump’s attorney general nominee, Matt Gaetz.

McConnell, however, voted to confirm President Joe Biden’s pick, Merrick Garland, for the same post nearly four years ago.

McConnell has never been a strong supporter of Trump and the America First agenda. Under McConnell’s leadership, the national debt rose more than $30 trillion, illegal immigration continued, and real wages for American workers remained stagnant. Obamacare was enacted in 2010. Big banks were bailed out in 2008, and social media companies silenced individuals without repercussions.

GRA:McCuntle is the worst(or top three) of the current RINOS.Absolutely worthless for America.
