The amount "apportioned" for McCray's pet "nyc thrive initiative" was closer to a staggering $1 billion.
I recall there were one or two city council "hearings" requesting hard data on staffing, funding, and actual "wellness metrics" that might indicate any "efficacy toward goals." None were presented, no standard accounting practices were evidenced. In any other sane municipal government, this would constitute massive fraud - with all involved parties being indicted. Instead - remarkably - the entire fiasco simply was "disappeared" - along with the money.

N.S.: Actually, it was closer to $2 billion. $250 million per year.

Curious I looked it up and this thrive crap is to help mental cases with their "mental health". I like that "wellness metric line in the article, as if there is some way you can actually measure craziness. This one had bondoogle written all over it but woke politicians still poured a billion into it because they have no constraints and no accountability...and they are all thieves.
