Hard to believe another shooter could get away after shots were fired so I'm not buying it. If another shooter was there, for the sake of argument, then he wasn't there to shoot Trump. If he was a backup to make sure Trump got taken out, the job would have been done and Trump would be a goner. If there was another shooter, my guess is it would have been to make sure the shooter was taken out.
There is the "patsy theory",not saying I believe it.My theory is the S.S. had info about Crooks and showed intentional indifference until Crooks fired.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Ahead of former President Donald Trump’s rally in Grand Rapids Saturday, the line of supporters extended for over a mile.
Some supporters told News 8 they started setting up shop outside Van Andel Arena as early as Thursday afternoon.

Saturday afternoon, the line in downtown Grand Rapids stretched for several blocks — including onto the on-ramp to northbound US-131 from Martin Luther King Jr. Street.

It’s Trump’s first rally since the attempt on his life a week ago, which left Trump with a bloodied ear and killed one attendee.
Trump’s vice presidential pick, U.S. Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, is also expected to attend.

His internet search history indicates he'd not only examined Trump's campaign schedule, but also the upcoming Democratic National Convention in Chicago, which starts on Aug 19. He also sought images of both Trump and President Biden. Officials have told federal lawmakers that Crooks had a hatred of politicians in general, and didn't have a distinct political profile or ideology of his own.
