"former Fox news personality Lou Dobbs has died Dobbs had been one of Trump's strongest supporters and repeated the former president's unproven [sic] claims of voter fraud."

I met him years ago in suburban Addison, texas. Mentioned that I wrote for Vdare and that I knew Peter Brimelow. Dobbs smiled and said, "Say hello to Peter."

This is the description of him leading off the NYT online obituary (right after he's described as a "Trump booster"):

"He used his platforms on CNN and Fox Business to share baseless conspiracy theories. His tenure at Fox ended after the network was sued for defamation over claims of voting machine fraud."

Utterly despicable. (What was the outcome of the lawsuit?)

PS- I looked up the bylined writers of the obit- (This will make you either laugh or cry)

ALEX WILLIAMS- "I have always been committed to the core principles of The Times, to report as objectively as possible on all topics, free from political or philosophical bias..."

MICHAEL LEVENSON- "I take seriously my ethical responsibilities and am committed to upholding the standards of integrity outlined in our Ethical Journalism Handbook..."

Lou was a good man. His intentions and behavior were always the best.

It would be polite if someone would answer the question I asked ("What was the outcome of the lawsuit against Fox News?"). Yes, I could look it up, but it would be refreshing to feel that the Internet was a source of actual communication, not just a repository for jokes, irrelevancies, repetitive stupidities ("The jobs Americans won't do..."), etc. I have no idea if anyone even reads the comments other than the same half-dozen people who post incessantly.
Sorry, N.S. for being "ornery"- but some days browsing the Internet really irks me to no end. And I'm not talking specifically about this site- it's the whole damn thing.

Which lawsuit, RM? You have to be specific. About 12 years ago, Fox paid Me-tooer Gretchen Carlson through the nose (10 mil? 12 mil?), because, as retired Rupert noted, he had told his son Lachlan to fight her suit, but the son rolled over, and the father said he was in a mere advisory role.

Of course, the msm have repeatedly, forcibly un-retired Rupe, because he functions as one of their "Goldsteins," while Lachlan is a liberal.

But something tells me that you're talking about a much more recent lawsuit. Dominion?

High expectations for the "internet" are misplaced. The internet is people, neither of which I have faith in.

From the NYT article: "...the network was sued for defamation over claims of voting machine fraud." I assume it was Dominion.

GRA, you said it perfectly. I still think the Internet can be better, and I have gotten worthwhile information from it. Just less and less as time goes on.
