Monday was the first day of the Tracie-Hawlett-J.B. Beasley (both White) double murder trial, with black Coley McCraney in the dock. It consisted of jury selection. About 100 of 300 jurors summoned showed up.
The judge and attorneys hope a jury will be selected tuesday or wednesday at the latest. Jury selection stopped for the day when the air conditioning went out.
alabama does not allow cameras in the courtroom.
