The daily mail fake news story, by a Harriet Alexander, was posted at 1:42 a.m. today:
[Headline:] “Alec Baldwin is spotted holding a prop shotgun the WRONG way around as filming kickstarts on new set of rust in montana - a day after his involuntary manslaughter charges were dropped.”
[Lede:] “Alec Baldwin has been spotted holding a shotgun the wrong way around on the new set of Rust - just a day after involuntary manslaughter charges against him were dropped.”
“The actor appeared to be passing the prop weapon to another cast member as filming resumed in Montana following the fatal shooting of Halyna Hutchins in 2021.”
The original fake story’s lede has since been deleted, and it (or rather, a seeming teaser version, also with Harriet Alexander's byline, which is simply the same story scrambled but which promises more) now opens with the confession,
“Alec Baldwin has been spotted holding a shotgun the wrong way around on the new set of Rust - just a day after involuntary manslaughter charges against him were dropped. The actor appeared to be passing the prop weapon to another cast member as filming resumed in Montana following the fatal shooting of Halyna Hutchins in 2021.”
