Time was, I was an internationalist of sorts. Then I left my country, and became incredibly homesick. Then I came home, and missed the place I’d called home for five years, and in whose language (and one of whose women) I’d fallen in love. Then my country left me.
For a time, after I’d forsaken internationalism, I figured that foreign affairs was a topic about which we knew too little to act and speak boldly, except for when a country attacked us, as opposed to domestic affairs. But now, just about all of America is a foreign country.

The strange thing about homelessness is that the homeless aren't worried about being in that situation. Most actually prefer it. But in Grand Rapids, they set up camp in many different areas--e.g. populated streets--and of course when nature calls, they do what they have to in full view of others.
Patrons at one restaurant I know of, can look out the window and watch such activities take place while they(the customers) eat spaghetti and meatballs.
Mmmmmm mmm.
No extra charge.

In progressive pdx, the city kindly supplies porta potties that have "this is a human right" proudly emblazoned on the side. Within a few weeks the homeless completely trash them and they're back to doing their business on the streets.
"just about all of America is a foreign country"? I'll say! At my corporate office here in SoCal, Spanish is spoken as much as English. I'm not talking about the docks where its 100% Spanish, I mean in the upstairs office. Those that use it also know English but refuse to speak it when talking among themselves or on the phone with many customers. I don't care how old this argument is, its just effing rude! Maybe someday I will except this Country is lost, but I doubt it.
If the people in an area, talk like a spic, break the law like a spic and ARE SPICS--the area is not American anymore.
Mexicans are Mexicans, blacks are blacks--neither of which this country had more than a handful of--for over 200 years. The country was what it was because we were WHITE--no ifs ands or buts about it.
You cannot call meatloaf,"meatloaf' if you don't use ground beef and veal and pork.
Same with "America".

Provide them with housing of whatever sort and the same thing happens. Just trashed. Folks are nuts, druggies, alcoholics.
