I just found out, this occurred back in Dec. of 2019. I hadn't heard of it before, so I assumed that it happened today.

NOW I remember,the quote came from a roundtable discussion of black crime on "The Dick Cavett Show" circa 1970-and his guests were,William F.Buckley,Gore Vidal,Phyllis Schafly,Brent Bozell and Redd Foxx.
Buckley said it to Vidal and Redd Foxx stole the line for "Sanford and Son."
