I am a native of Washington, D.C.
My oldest cousin Ned worked in LBJ's White House as a high school student.
My late great, great uncle Bynum Smith built the Washington Monument.
My late paternal grandfather worked as a pipefitter in the steam tunnels of the old Saint Elizabeth's mental hospital.
My late Uncle Jack was a Washington, D.C. homicide detective.
My late Aunt Nancy was a high school classmate of country and western singer Roy Clark at Anacostia High decades ago.
I had my high school prom at Kennedy Center.
Three of my brothers attended Gonzaga High in D.C.
So, I know everything about D.C., including the fact that it has been an armed camp ever since 9/11/2001.
Only a goddamn fool could believe that there had ever been a riot on January 6, 2021.

Armed camp indeed. It is inexplicable how anyone could have entered the Capital so easily as did the mob. I would have like to believe after 9/11 such a thing would have been impossible. But then a mob besieged the White House for three straight days, trying to force entry and nearly did so.
