Culture Collapse: US Orchestras Promote "Short History of Cultural Racism" BS

The Comments by Bone and a couple of others are pretty much on target.
I will never give $$upport to any organization that is involved in this BS. Not attending any of the concerts where they include a piece by some deservedly obscure black composer.

Note who is funding this.

Black culture generally despises classical music. Those negro composers, musicians and directors that make a life of professional classical music must [?] feel alienated from the rest of negro USA culture?

This seminar is made possible by a generous grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
The same organization seems to fund all of their EDI activity -- you can see this also via the grant database of the Mellon Foundation: link -- it looks like the most recent grant of $2.1m (link) was for their so-called Catalyst Fund (link): Becoming a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive organization neither happens overnight, nor can be achieved by simply adding more people of color, women, or LGBTQIA+ people to the staff or board to increase representation. People must feel seen, heard, and meaningfully empowered within the organization to make change.
While it's certainly the path of least resistance today, it's still fair to ask: who decided the League of American Orchestras ('formerly the American Symphony Orchestra League') should emphasize EDI so strongly?
The answer appears to be Jesse Rosen, the recently (in late 2020) retired CEO, a job he held for 12 years -- here's what it says about him in the announcement of his retirement (link):
Under Rosen’s leadership, the League has advocated for orchestras’ deeper engagement with communities; renewed efforts to address equity, diversity, and inclusion; ... Rosen oversaw the production of major field research and publications including Reimagining the Orchestra Subscription Model; Fearless Journeys: Innovation in American Orchestras; Racial, Ethnic and Gender Diversity in the Orchestra Field; ... In the past year, Rosen was instrumental in the launch of two new League programs that support orchestras’ efforts to become more inclusive organizations: The Catalyst Fund, a three-year program of annual grants to orchestras that aims to advance their understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion and to foster effective EDI practices; and the National Alliance for Audition Support, a national initiative to increase diversity in American orchestras ...
Rosen is not a prominent enough personality to say for sure, but it seems almost certain that he's Jewish (link).
At the top of this blog it says:
>DEFEND YOUR HISTORY, PROTECT YOUR FUTURE. --GRA
People who believe this is important should perhaps also ask: From whom or what? -- the answer is in part, but only in part: the inordinate influence of activist Jews.
A bit more about Jesse Rosen and his activities/influence (from the same website):
August 14, 2020 -- US ORCHESTRA APPOINTS A CHIEF DIVERSITY OFFICER
‘The creation of an executive-level Chief Diversity Officer places the Cincinnati Symphony at the leading edge of change in the orchestra field,’ said Jesse Rosen, President and CEO of the League of American Orchestras. ‘Our research confirms that one of the biggest barriers to progress is the lack of staff capacity. This move by the CSO models the level of commitment it takes to bring about equitable, diverse and inclusive organizations.’

True, blacks usually hate classical music, calling it "White music". However, when false rumors about White composers actually being black begin to circulate...Such as with Beethoven, Mozart or Brahms, then suddenly blacks take a closer listen and decide, maybe the music is pretty good.
The person disseminating this corporate sponsored pity party is someone called Ayo Magwood. Google her, she's one of the most butt ugly, unattractive people I've ever seen. No wonder she's pissed off at the world.
>The person disseminating this corporate sponsored pity party is someone called Ayo Magwood.
And if you're a bit of a masochist (like Stix, who watches mainstream TV) then go have a look at who's in charge of the Mellon Foundation (link), or maybe the officers of the Ford Foundation (link).
Because in the end Magwood is just a contractor; she's selling a product -- why is there a demand for her product?

Comments are a way for people to vent -- much more important is MONEY, and not just the transparent funding of organizations like Mellon (they maintain a publicly accessible database of their grants) and Ford, but also of so-called 'dark money' pools like the Tides Foundation (link) -- Tides is quietly extremely influential (e.g. they were behind the FL campaign to restore voting rights to felons), yet very, very few Americans even know it exists.
