Of course Stix is right, as usual. Why "sex" has been replaced with "gender" is not clear to me. Are people afraid to say "sex" or does the used of "gender" somehow make it easier to make believe it can be changed at will?
Use of "gender" when "sex" is meant has long bothered me so I am glad to see Stix correct people. I don't claim to be an expert, but I do have a degree in English.
