Steve Sailer did a blog item on Variety’s outrage that in recent deals for singer-songwriters’ song catalogues, seven out of the top ten “artists” were White men. However, the rag was not angry about Bruce Springsteen getting $550 million, much less about Jay-Z getting $470 million, or Kanye West getting $250 million. Variety was simply engaged in generic, racial spoils racism.

N.S.: Just plain lousy.

The guy functions like a primitive AI program with a downloaded rhyming dictionary.
When I saw Steve’s title, I immediately thought of the songwriters of The Great American Songbook. But with these mutts (excepting Paul Simon and Lindsey Buckingham), who cares if we’re talking about black cursers or White rockers?
Well, once important outfits like Variety obviously do.

I must respectfully disagree, at least somewhat, about Springsteen's talents. While I agree, his lyric writing, can at times, slip into the mundane and generic, he can turn around and write something absolutely brilliant. His albums can be up and down in that way but when he's inspired, he gives Dylan a run for his money. I try to separate the man from his politics though, he's long been a Woke ideologue and longs to be seen as an ally to the common man. Unfortunately, like many artists, he's talented at what he does but is a political dunce. He wrote a lousy song called "American Skin" about the shooting of Amadou Diallo that showed just how divorced from reality he really is. Nowadays he buddies up to Obama and pushes Woke extremism because for some reason he thinks it's makes him a "good guy" to the regular guy. He doesn't realize that Obummer hates him because he's White and doesn't give a rip about the White middle class except as something to steal from to finance his diversity agenda.
