SCHNEIDER LOSES AFTER 40 GAMES--TONIGHT

(abc13) Amy Schneider's historic run on "Jeopardy!" ended on Wednesday's episode after a 40-game winning streak.

Schneider, an engineering manager from Oakland, California, lost Wednesday to Rhone Talsma, a librarian from Chicago. She [sic] had a sizeable lead until Final Jeopardy when she dropped to second place after failing to produce an answer against her $8,000 bet. The episode began to air early Wednesday afternoon in certain markets in the Eastern and Central time zones.

Her list of accomplishments during her time on "Jeopardy!" is long: She is the winningest woman in the show's history and one of only four people to surpass $1 million in regular-season winnings.

Earlier this week, she unseated Matt Amodio to claim the second-place spot for most consecutive games won in the show's history.

"Amy"--whose real name is Tom--and has a younger girlfriend, was seemingly on its way to a textbook victory, but the gay sounding,Groucho Marx lookalike challenger strolled unwittingly into fate's good graces late in double Jeopardy.

"Amy" had built a lead of $19,000--with about 9 clues left, answering many questions in a row. Finally,Groucho answered one right, chose the next clue and miraculously picked the one with the daily double.

" A true daily double,"said Groucho,sitting on about $7500.

He got it right and doubled his score to $15000--still $9000 behind, but close enough for an improbable finish.

The clue for "Final Jeopardy"was:"The only country that ends in "H" and is the 10th largest country in the world."

I knew it from the old George Harrison album--"Live in Bangledesh"--immediately--and Groucho did too,but "Amy" failed to jot down even a guess.

In 5 minutes "Amy" went from a sure winner,to a former champ.
Most Jeopardy champs lose on a fluke,a series of events that go totally against the better player.

Groucho Marx answered very few questions and had no business defeating the sexual psycho.

It didn't matter--he said the secret word:"Bangledesh"--and won $27,000,I believe--minus the duck dropping down..
