Many left voluntarily. Last war fought with primitive weapons. The partition of British India. One to two million persons killed in several months.
Rioting of this sort in India far from uncommon. Muslims instigating the last major mini-war and taking a bad beating. Hindu nationalists have the RSS. Largest voluntary organization in the world. Self-defense oriented and capable of retaliation when provoked.
That dream of Ghandi of all people living together in harmony and peace just that. A dream and nothing more. Not only for India, but for almost anywhere else.
This law pertains only to religious minorities in Islamic lands fleeing religious persecution.
Hardly would I think a Muslim in their own land could claim they are being persecuted by their brother and sister Muslims.
