Do I Hear “Reality TV Series” Brewing? Horse-and-Buggy-Driving, Amish Crime Gang Arrested in Michigan (And Now, for the Rest of the Story)

Stop everything! A true crime has been committed and must be broadcast to the world! Yes, four “MEN” (though underage) were caught drinking when they threw cans of beer out of their horse and buggy. Yup, it’s those Amish at it again with those crimes against humanity.

They were charged with these offenses: Felony obstruction of justice, disorderly person, and issued civil infractions for minors in possession of alcohol.

A few things come to mind here. The obstruction of justice was because they gave false names, not because they are criminals but because in the Amish community this sort of thing can be severely punished, much worse than regular folks when they catch their kids drinking. Not that these guys were “kids,” two were 20 but the other two were 19, and when groups of blacks are caught “wilding” and assaulting whites, all they need is one 19-year-old in the group and they all become “teens” in the headlines, whereas here, they are “men.” So why the headline for something that is a regular occurrence for most young fellows growing up? Maybe because they were in a horse and buggy, but even then it seems so absurdly innocuous one has to wonder if there is another motive. Maybe they are so desperate to have white faces in the headlines for “criminal activity” they put this one out there to balance things out. Yup, some guys out drinking in a vehicle that might go up to a whole 25 miles an hour!

Amish unmarried men are allowed a degree of leeway in their personal lives prior to marriage. They can even drive cars!! Now they have taken it a step beyond. They must be chastised by the community and harshly.
