If the right to conceal-carry (or simply to own a firearm to protect your home and family) were ever to become law in NYC, crime would drop 75% within the year.
First of all,I hear that bull all the time on TV,when there's a murder.
"This is a quiet neighborhood"(as you see dozens of blacks milling around--you KNOW it's a lie),says the reporter, with a straight face.
TV and newsprint types are rarely permitted to expose the truth of an area's criminal tendencies.
Only twice--that I can recall--after 2 different murders, were witnesses interviewed by my local station and allowed to say what was REALLY going on:"I hear gunshots all the time.Ten years ago,it used to be a quiet block, where you could sit on your porch, but now it's fairly common to hear different types of gunfire after dark."
Or a businessman:"This shooting is nothing unusual in the hood--we have lots of crime, drug dealing and 2 to 3 times a week, sounds of guns being shot."
Since then, about a year ago,all of that got censored by,I assume,TV station management in cahoots with the mayor. Now,all neighborhoods are wonderful--no crime anywhere(murders are:"isolated incidents" and "the public is not in danger")but the people who live there know better.
I know,I do.
